L6203 is a full bridge driver which combines isolated DMOS power transistors with CMOS and Bipolar circuits on the same chip and it is easy for the L6203 IC to have such shorts circuits since it is used as driver that often interfacing external circuit by means of wires.

In its application note, it is stated that there are three types of short circuit regarding this L6203: output to output short circuit, output to supply voltage short circuit, and output to ground short circuit.
